What type of variable resistor should be used
I have a battery v 7.2 and has an electric motor and go quickly so it is a way I can reduce the speed using a variable resistor so that you can control the speed? the motor and the battery is out of a car remote control! Please If you have another idea let me all I want is be able to vary the motor speed
You did not say how many amps the motor is based, but the resistance is not a good idea for two reasons: first, the resistance is likely to dissipate too much power, and, secondly, the couple will suffer. Here's a better idea. Assuming that your engine does not derive more than a few amps, what you need is a LM350 regulator. With only a few games, you can have a voltage control variable for your engine, and maintaining high torque capacity, too.
