Why my frame rate dropped my games after having updated my video driver?
My current video card is ATI Radeon Xpress 200 series. It has a size of 256 MB. After downloading the latest Catalyst driver, I immediately noticed that my speed settings in games like Counter Strike 1.6 has been reduced to 30-40 fps. My FPS is 100 again, but only when there is very little activity on the screen. All my settings are 3D operational. Vertical refresh is disabled and my monitor is 60 Hz used to have constant 90 FPS and more until I updated my driver. My friend has ATI Radeon Xpress 300 series with a memory size of 128 MB. He was a former pilot and he has at least 90 SPF when playing Counter Strike 1.6. The problem is I installed the new driver? I just want my old SPF of at least 90 back. If anyone has suggestions or ideas please reply and share.
Sometimes new drivers are not as good as the previous driver. I never new drivers until I have to. However, I used to have a radeon, and I know you always catylist was buggy for me = (I recommend removing the new driver, and getting used to, and compare this preformance.
