Change a fan motor (and / or resistance?) In a 1999 Chevy Malibu?

My fan is not working my Malibu. I have reviewed some sites web and it seems pretty obvious that your blower motor related. I am also seeing a lot of resistance from the fan motor. How I can know if my problem is with the engine fan or resistance? My fan is not completely dead ... only 98% (haha. .. = ) will have ever kick in at low speed for a VERY short time until it sort of freezes. " I've been told is the turbine engine in the glove compartment so I crawled under there and took 3 or 4 screws the plastic housing under the glove box and the piece did not come out yet. A question ... Has anyone changed the fan motor in a 1999 Malibu (or similar). Any idea whether my car sounds like it needs new or resistance of the motor itself? How do I get around this piece of plastic once it seems that all screws outside (I see anyway) ... or is there a better way to get this beast? Thanks!

If you look at the resistance through the glove and see any rust or corrosion on the coils that probably needs to be replaced. I think you have to go through the engine to remove it though. You may need a screwdriver or something to open. If your problem is not solved, then it may be that the relay contacts of the fan motor is burned or pitted and needs to be replaced.
