automotive ammeter question?
Normally I do not take notice of my ammeter, but recently after drive for more than six hours through the mountains and on, which means that the engine working at High Speed in low speed, I noticed that the ammeter showimg is 30 amps. for several hours .. I was worried, but the next day things looked "normal." It was the day I used without accessories. What it means?
One of two things: Something short and was coming to power, the alternator or the regulator is to go out and dumped a ton of battery power. My hunch is the additional workload on the engine increased its engine temperature, and thus increase the temperature inside the alternator regulator. Excess heat has caused tension output signal to shoot and began to roast the main battery (which had stopped while it was happening I bet hearing the Acid Battery in the boiling water).
